Playing Too Much

OK, I really don't mean to rub it in, but seriously playing too much can actually be detrimental to your health! You know I have never had such dark eye circles in my life before?

I arrived home at around 2.30am this morning and somehow or another I still managed to make it for my 9am lecture. I only skipped the 8am lecture (WHILE *AHEMs AHEMs* skipped TWO LECTURES even though they didn't go to the pub with me OMG!) so I am the champion la ok! So commited to work even though I am playing so much. But I think it'll all be worth it. =).
The reason why I skipped my 8 am lecture was cause...My lecturer looks like this (cis I am not being mean it's really quite an accurate photo, blame Zen Xern for pointing it out to us) and she talks about fungi for one hour. For those who don't know, plain mushrooms can have REALLY REALLY complicated names so it's really damn boring ok. Even if I went I would be dozing off so I would rather listen to the recorded lecture again in my free time when I am awake. Hehe.
Funny incident of the day -
Cheryl : "Suh Ming, I don't care, I am not going to let you go home and nap cause I want to bring you home and play with me cause there's no one else to play with me in the house!"
Suh Ming: *shaking with laughter* "You think I am a toy ah!"
And Cheryl managed to paint Zen Xern's nail a SEXAY RED! Shit la people stop distracting me from doing work!

Malaysians Versus Singaporeans

There has always been this unspoken rivalry between Malaysians and Singaporeans. It's pretty weird. It's almost like the rivalry between Puay Chai and Yuk Chai, as well as DJ versus DU on a bigger scale. LOL. Let me just put up a few example of the stupid stuff we do around here.

Scenario 1.
Kevin and Wei Yun went to take some cans of drinks to bring back to their rooms for storage. THEN, they started to speak in loud voices, saying that they are from Singapore etc. So YEAAA, when they do kiasu stuff like take free stuff, they tell people that they are Singaporeans. HEEHEE.

Scenario 2.
Singaporean: "Where are you from? Malaysia?"
Me: "Hmm, yea how did you know?"
Singaporean: "You have the Malaysian look"
I was almost offended.

Scenario 3.
During Karaoke Night, I had this conversation with my neighbour.
Me: "Haha, actually I have classes from 9-5 tomorrow without any breaks but I'll still be staying on for the whole night for karaoke night."
Ken: *frowns* "I don't get Malaysians"
Me: *indignant face* "WHAT HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH ME BEING MALAYSIAN!"
Ken: *shrugs* "Don't know just felt like saying that".
Last time I used to feel damn paiseh when my friends did stupid stuff then tell people that they are Singaporeans but after this particular incident I feel nothing now. =D.

Scenario 4.
*when we were about to sneak into badminton club to play badminton*
(Talks in loud voices) : "Wah Singapore, our country, is such a beautiful place la!".

Scenario 5.
When we were crossing the road even though the padestrian light was red,
JOSHUA : (he said something about being a Singaporean), then "Man, our neighbours, the MALAYSIANS are suuuch niceeeee people!"

Scenario 6.
During dinner.
Roy : "Eh I heard that in Johor, there was this girl whose hands got chopped off cause the robbers wanted to steal her bag"
Kev : "No la you're exaggerating ok!"
Me : "YEA LA, go and ask other Singaporeans and see if they have heard of this story!"
Roy : "No laa it's true ok I'll ask them! Eh, Sherman did you hear of the story of the girl whose hands got chopped off?"
Sherman : "Uhm, didn't that happen in Orchard Road?"
HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Ok this blog post can go on for quite some time but I'll just cut it short and save you guys from falling asleep. When I have the time, I'll write a post called "Australia 101". You won't want to miss it! =D.

Running Under The Rain...

Yesterday, I was running under the rain in a pretty dead alley (at around 8pm) behind Lygon Street cause we got lost. We were running to catch a tram, then decided to run to the train station directly because trams come only at 1/2 hour intervals on Sundays, only to find out that we missed the train by TWO minutes.

I feel pretty alive these days. =P.

MRS - Luna Park (27.02.2009)

Even though I am blogging about this event separately from the zoo post, please bear in mind that it ALL happened on the same day. =P.

When we got back from the zoo, I think we had about an hour's break before we had to go to the Mess Hall (only for the people who were staying in the hall of residence) for an international food banquet. It was pretty cool, with stuff like meatloaf and scones etc. The only sucky part was that each person was only limited to taking... 1 sausage or 2 meatloaf etc etc. That was just silly beyond words. -____-. About half an hour after dinner, we left for Luna Park.

Luna Park was just next to St. Kilda. So that would mean that I made my THIRD trip to St Kilda within two weeks time. Don't expect me to make a trip to St Kilda anytime soon. LOL.

See a lot of familiar faces right?

The girls. L-R: Shiying, me, Wai Chien and Sue Anne.
Since they dropped us so early and the park would only open at 9pm, we had to wander around. By then I never want to see St Kilda for the next 3 months.

L-R: Darrel, Wai Chien, Sue Anne, me and Kev.

Even though I was slightly annoyed to be going to St Kilda again, this amazing view of the sunset made up for it (this was my first time at St Kilda during sunset).

So (duh) we took group photos against this gorgeous background.

With flash. None of the photos did real justice to the scenery. LOL. You'll have to see it with your own eyes to be awed by it.

We bumped into Yung Ling! See camwhore until the sun has completely gone down already. HAHA!!

"Suh Ming! We're taking a group photo! Hurry!"
"Wait la I am still saving numbers!" *snap!*.
-______-. Who was the photographer again!

Taken from Zen Xern's camera. The science and the engineering students go along very well indeed. LOL.

I haven't mention this, but MRS (Monash Residential Service) actually booked the entire park for us. So before we went in, the park was completely closed off for us. =D =D =D. You should have seen the people there. Waiting right in front of the main gate and looking like some overgrown kid. HAHAHA. See, I even have picture evidence. Once the gates were opened to us, people actually RAN towards the rides that they have been eyeing since we arrived. Lol. That was pretty funny. Some people even gave out loud whoops! That just made the whole thing incredibly funny. Hee.

Our first ride. =).

Getting on our first ride. Notice how Kev wasn't on it? Well he was like our parent for the day. You know, holding our bags while we ran off to play and taking photos of us. =D HEEHEE I gave up convincing Kev to go on rides since our trip to Genting (remember the Cyclone incident, guys?)
My next ride was totally out of this world. I still can't believe I was on it.

Before the terror.

If you think this is bad... try...

THIS! I WAS REALLY UP THERE OK! Screaming my lungs out. =D. And swearing a lot cause I was so freaked out. Blood was rushing to my head and since we were swung to that position like 4 times simultaneously, I was VERY glad to touch the ground again. REALLY.

Joshua still had the energy to wave at Kev. LOL.

Bumper car rides in Australia is bizarre to say the least. At first we were wondering why people kept going in circles (like where's the fun in that!). I even made a joke, saying that maybe cause they are not Malaysian drivers. HAHAHAA. But when it came to our turns, they made us drive the bumper cars in circles too. Must follow law don't play play. LOL. That was the weirdest bumper car ride I have ever been on. It felt more like a race instead of a bumper car ride.

There weren't many rides in Luna Park. I think Genting is much bigger than it. =S.

My hair looks awesome in this shot. =D.

Waiting for the Ferris Wheel. But then we gave up waiting cause it was soooo slow!

We ran to the pirate ship instead. Kev didn't join us again. -___-.

Waving at "Dad". HAHAHAHA don't tell Kev I said this. =D.

Cheryl found this photo particularly funny cause she said she can still remember me leaning like that and telling her that I was bored already. HAHAHAHA.
As I said, small park. We got on most of the rides within two hours, so we decided to take the first round of buses back. I don't want to mention nationalities, but let's just say that Malaysians are not that uncivilised after all. Hoho. I was lucky enough to get on the first bus (I was surprised that I managed to get on the bus unscathed too!). Some people waved to their friends who did not manage to get on the bus and they flashed us the international hand signal. =D. I like Australia. HAHA.

Karaoke Night

This was how karaoke night looked like. Awesome right? I am the person wearing two blue glow bracelets.

Highlight of the evening? Some Australian guy bit into his glow stick and stained his tongue with those glow stuff and started showing his "cool" tongue to everyone. If only he stopped swinging that leaking glow stick and splashed some into my eye. But it's alright now cause I can still see properly. Heh. In sum, I HAD AN AWESOME TIME! =D =D =D. I guess from now on some of my blog posts will be about current event while some will have to be backdated. There are so many days that I haven't blogged about ok! Like how the people here thought it would be funny to celebrate St. Patrick's Day too by wearing green shirts, sitting on the lawn with a beer in their hand and blasting Irish music from their room on the 4th floor or something.

Roberts Hall is soooo not the hall to apply to if you're expecting quiet studying time. LOL.

Melbourne Zoo - 27.02.2009

To minimise bandwidth, I'll only display 3 posts on one page (since I load my page like 2-3 times a day to check my tagbox). So if you guys missed any posts, just click on the older posts ok. Won't take that much of your time. =P.

A new day, a new lesson; Don't try to stuff a banana into your mouth just cause you want to finish it and throw it into the trash can outside. You may just bump into a neighbour and you'll be forced to waved since you can't say Hi or anything (with your mouth full). And you'll hear him snickering as he turns away. -___-.

------------------------------
Anyways, I hate animals. But since I was already here and uhm.. my other friends were going for the zoo trip so I had to go along too! LOL.

On the days before our trip, the weather was so cold that you'll regret wearing shorts once you stand outside for only 10 minutes. But since the weather forecast said it would be hot on that Friday, I had to learn to trust the weather forecast (took a while cause I NEVER trusted weather forecast back in Malaysia) and wore shorts. It was a good call. You'll know why later!

Oh I nearly forgot, before we went, we all bought this MSA t-shirt which you can't get in Malaysia ngehehe and promised to wear it to the zoo. In the morning when we were waiting for the bus however, since we were all dressed in the same t-shirt, one girl actually came up to us cause she thought we were in charge. HAHA!! That was quite funny.

Ok picture time cause this happened nearly one month ago and I can't really remember what happened unless I look at photos.

On the bus, the rest were so camera why while I was trying to squeeze in. Look. I look GHASTLY!

L-R: French singer (no la just kidding it's May Li), Zen Xern, Cheryl, me (I fell asleep on the bus so I had a stiff neck) and Joshua.
I was kinda pissed when we arrived cause we had to wait for students from other campuses (Berwick, Caulfield and Peninsula) and if that wasn't enough, we had to play some stupid game instead to socialise. I gave it a miss cause I'll definitely forget everyone's name so why bother. Hoho.

So Kev, Chery and I pretended to go to the toilet, sneaked away and looked at animals. =P. Cheryl what do you think you're doing!

Honey bear! HAHA. Just kidding. It's just a normal bear.

A bear's diet. Cool eh?

We were THAT much shorter than the bear.

Even Kev was shorter wei!

Then we saw the King of the Jungle. I won't post up photos of every animal we saw. Some are really too cool but since I don't know how to watermark my photos I won't put it up in case other people take it as their own. I take copyright infringement seriously.

Timon : "Where are thou, Pumbaa!"

The greenest part of the Zoo. Really makes you appreciate nature you know!

So we showed our love through action. =D.

Another damn fail shot. LOL.

OMG I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE THESE TORTOISES! They look like they came straight out of a fairy tale or something! RIGHT!

How can you come to Australia and NOT see a kangaroo? I even saw one hopping to somewhere else right in front of me. I was just too stunned cause these kangaroes were about human height (thank goodness they are quite tini or not I would have fainted from the shock of it all), and they just hopped. In front of me. O_O. I still can't get over the shock. I just stood there while everyone else was like taking videos and gasping. LOL.

WHOA KEV!!!

I just thought this looked cool.
The kangaroes in this zoo is sooo small that when you take pictures with them, they look like rats. LOL.

I think we were looking at penguins. DAMN CUTE OK. The penguins here are MINI!

What can I say? I just LOOOVE crashing into other people's photos!
There were a lot of fake animals all around the zoo so...
We posed with them. Fuiyoh.

Wow Zen Xern.

Oooh, Cheryl!

WHOA JOSHUA! The look on your face is soo intense man! =D.

Oohlala May Li!

In the bird park.

Our shirts are damn striking right!

Since we came under Monash, our ticket was inclusive of lunch. We were given lunch boxes with sandwiches, a fruit and a fruit juice box. HOW COOL IS THAT! And again we had it under the sun at the lawn. HOW COOL IS THAT! Here, they go by trust so they won't know even if you took two boxes. HOW COOL IS THAT!

The super cute penguins that I mentioned. Heh. Sorry if my photos are a bit jumbled up.

Red racoon!

Some of them paid 1 dollar to make their own souvenir coin. It was kinda cool actually. You just pick a pattern, manually turn a knob, then voila!

We went to the Butterfly Park and OMG THREE butterflies landed on me! One landed on my head while TWO landed on my hands. Or rather, I just put my hands near them and hoped that they'll slowly walk up. AND TO MY UTTER AMAZEMENT, THEY ACTUALLY DID!! See how jealous Joshua was? He kept asking me how did I get butterflies on me he wanted one too!! Heehee.

Don't we make a really cute quartet? =D.

I have NO idea why, but we seem to like to take photos with fake animals. You'll see more later.

In the bamboo park. Our shirts are awesome right!

YOU DAREDEVIL! haha. It's fake. Duh.
Joshua looked like he was studying the teeth and he was sooo fascinated with it!
I stepped on a crocodile. =D. Beat that! MUAHAha. Ok damn lame.
And that concluded our trip to the zoo! There were only one koala bear and tini kangaroes so if you really want to see Australian animals, go to the something Sanctuary instead.

Pigeons Are Very Chillax

Today as I was cycling through the park again, I saw this group of FAT pigeons just sitting on the pavement. So I thought it would be ULTRA fun to cycle real fast down the slope and watch all of them fly away quickly. HOWEVER, as I approaching them at HIGH SPEED, they were still sitting there. -_____-. Luckily I applied brakes in time. HAHA. I missed them by an inch. When they heard the bike screeching, they idlely WALKED away. Damn potong. Sigh.
----------------
If you guys are still reading this, Wina and Peg-Gy: You guys no longer have to try to con me into drinking vodka by telling me that it's Sprite (I didn't fall for it). I already had a good taste of it. A REALLY GOOD TASTE OF IT. HAHAHA.

Raindrops Are Falling On My Head...

Today, Midge and I cycled under the rain.

It felt good. =).

Especially when you go down slopes. =D.

I think this is the craziest thing both of us ever did this year. We'll top this next week if I can make it ok?!

Australia So Far...

Sure, I look like I am having loads of fun in all of the photos below. But now, University has started and I am starting to feel a little stressed out even though it's only Week 2. Reason? I went to my friend's house the other day and on the table, ALL of their lab manuals were opened on the table and they have already finish exercises for NEXT WEEK! *hyperventilates*. We blame Joshua. Everyone sees him starting on work so they started on their work too because they didn't want to be left behind during tutorials.

Last year, I slacked a lot la to be honest. Like whenever I got back from Uni, I'll just nap for *ahem* two hours then wake up for dinner or I'll be watching TV until dinner time. After that, I'll sit down in front of the computer right after dinner and chat on MSN or do my reports. I was chatting most of the time if you really want to know. In fact, the time I spend being online in Australia is only a fraction of the time I used to be online in Malaysia. =P. But then, Kev still doesn't think it's good for me (spending time a few hours a day online), so he wants to confiscate my internet cable already. I'LL LIKE TO WATCH YOU TRY THAT! Anyway, over here, you have to grow up ok? You'll have to learn to do your own laundry (have to learn to pick a time when the laundry room is empty cause we're sharing like 8 machines and 8 dryers with around 150+ other people), cook for yourself, go grocery shopping and vacuum your own room. T_T. I'm sorry I didn't help out more when I was at home, Mum! =(.

Sigh sorry for being so grouchy. I think it's the weather. Last week, it was so cold that you had to wear fleece jackets with scarf etc. This week, it's so hot that I go out in shorts again. -_-. In my room, I have jackets, long pants, shorts, short skirts and scarfs hanging on my clothes rack because you'll never know when the weather will change again.

Enough of being stressed. They always say that no matter how busy you are, you should always stop to smell the roses. And that's what I did (not literally la duh). The other day when I was cycling back from my friend's house, I had to cut across this park to go back to my halls. For those who don't know, my room faces this very scenic park with a huge lake. I can't see the lake from my window though, there are big trees blocking it. But the park is only a 30 second walk from my stairway so I bypass it everyday before going to school. But that day, as I was cycling back, this scene made me stop in my journey.

Tada! I am telling you guys, the duck is like 1/4 of my height ok! I call it the mutant duck! To capture this picture, I had to stop my bike and park it at the side, then risk my life to take this picture (cause I do not know if they will peck me)!

A closer look after I stood there for 2 minutes and they did not even fly away. So fascinating ain't it? The ducks and geese here are all terribly well fed I should say. Their feathers are all so glossy!
The Lake. =). I think that it should look gorgeous in spring! Can't wait to capture pictures then!

Orientation Week : Part 2 - 26.02.2009

On the last day of the Orientation organised by Monash Abroad for exchange students, we had Monash Dash as mentioned previously. But I haven't really blogged about the activities for that day so here goes...

Monash Sunway Campus boleh!

We got 11th! T.T
In the afternoon, we had another activity called Monash Fun Day. When I first bought the ticket for this event, I was thinking to myself, it should be REALLY LAME! I mean... Fun Day? That's so elementary school man. But I went anyway cause the ticket was only $5 and it comes with lunch and most importantly, all of my friends are going. -____-. I always lose out to peer pressure heh.
Anyways, when your expections are low, the outcome is usually awesome. Same goes for this! They gave us chicken fillet sandwiches WITH THE MOST AMAZING CHOCOLATE COOKIE from Coles. Took us a while to find out where they got the cookies from but once we found out, we all ran out to buy it! =P. They even gave us timers to time ourselves in the shower cause Australia is still facing a drought. I stuffed it in my luggage already!
I took two sandwiches and two cookies and my friends were kinda freaked out. Hoho. This is myusually portion so if I ever gain weight in Australia I'll blame the dairy products. And Tim Tams. I love milk with cookies by the way. Who doesn't! I think I was trying to swallow my food in this picture. Heh. Gluttony is one of my major weaknesses! See, we always just sit on the ground and have our meals.

The rest of the crowd. I joined team building and we got to play with BIG YELLOW BEACH BALL HAHA. We played spider and building human pyramids too. It was really, really fun. Too bad I got tanned severely AGAIN. Red Bull came to give out drinks too so I guess that can explain our hyper behaviour later.
For those who know Joshua, his birthday was coincidentally on that last day of orientation. So Kev, Choo and I gave our hall activities a miss to go to their house to join in the surprise. =P. I don't think I missed much. I heard that some people jumped into the lake outside my room. *yawn*.

Joshua's housemate staying up late to bake his cake. To keep this a surprise, apparently they had to hide in the larder to mix the cake barter cause Joshua came down for some food in the middle of the baking process? HAHA! I kept laughing at that bit of info!
We arrived in our bikes! Cause it was too hot to walk. Staying under the sun for too long does crazy things for me. For instance.

Yea, my point exactly. I even look drunk. =S. We were giving the lala post. Cheryl kept hugging me and saying I love you (she's just as bad HAHA!) that Kev and Choo kept exchanging nervous glances. HAHAHAHA.

Most of us in their kitchen. They eat like 24/7 cause they have such an awesome kitchen with a larder that is half full (cause they get to the food so fast!).

I wish I had a kitchen like theirs. T.T. In my hall, around 150 residents have to share 8 electric stoves?!?! Then if that wasn't enough, we had to keep our stuff in lockers so it's quite troublesome to cook alone around here. =(.
We surprised Joshua after we told him that we wanted to play Articulate and made him set up the game upstairs while the rest prepared the cake downstairs. I have NO IDEA where that photo went but just try to imagine Joshua surprised ok? He just gave the Joshua smile. You know.. the one with... =____=. You guys realise that when he smiles it's one straight line right! HAHA.

Playing Articulate. If you're wondering where I was...

I was busy rolling around on the floor with Cheryl. =D. Red Bull + Sun = incredibly hyper Suh Ming and Cheryl. Wait, Cheryl's hyper ALL THE TIME! You guys just missed my grand performance in this photo!

My team on the right won. Duh!
I need to cook chicken in mushroom cream sauce with mash potatoes now! Yum.

Orientation Week: Part 1

I had two weeks of orientation. The first week was orientation under Monash Abroad while the second week was orientation at the halls. All of the events that I am going to blog about all happened a couple of weeks ago so details might be sketchy. Blame Kevin for holding on to all of the photos. Whenever I ask him for pictures, he'll ask me to wait cause he wants to give to me in one go. I suspect it's cause he knows that I won't be studying and will be blogging with those photos instead. Which is exactly what I am doing now. =D.

On the first day of orientation, the first thing on the itinerary was "Yummy Pancakes" for breakfast. We were ALL super excited ok! When we got there, there was such a loooong line for the pancakes! It was worth the wait though. They served pancakes with syrup and a scoop of ice cream on top of it. YUM!

Very satisfied people. =D. I told Cheryl that she'll be my Yen Ming while I'll be her Amanda. HAHA!!!

Then on our free day, we went to the city. Pictures are shown in the previous post.

Lalala, I can't remember what happened.

Then on Friday, they organised this race called the Monash Dash. We were supposed to a team with at least 3 different nationalities.

We sorta cheated. The people of different nationalities from our team were actually our coursemates back in Sunway campus. Heh. We ran like mad in the cold morning and thought that we would come on top but we got number... 11. Damn fail.

That night itself, there was this social event at the Red Scooter but since it was pretty expensive and I don't know anyone in the halls that would dress up with me, I gave it a miss and headed to Cheryl and co.'s house for a movie night.

Wondering what we're staring at?

HAHAHAHAHA. This is what desperate people do to watch movies. We were watching Disturbia. Correction, the rest were watching while Cheryl and I were in her room having some girl time. *ahem. =P.

The following week, the orientation at the Halls begun.

A typical Australian barbeque. You collect your room then sit on the group to eat them. =). It's damn fun actually. L-R: Jing, Wai Chien, Pey Chin, Sue Anne, Darrel, Dan, me, Kev and Wei Yun.

Ok can't remember what else we did. Er, oh they had this mini tournament thing for pool, table tennis or foosball. I did not join any cause I suck in all of them.

Sue Anne and I. She's staying next to me and she's really really sweet. =).

The hall chartered buses to ferry us to St. Kilda (again!). Since there was free transport, Kev and I decided to go again even though we were just there last week. Heh.

Retarded bus.

Kev and I.

At the beach. This time, the winds were so strong that most people were wearing jackets. Run, Campbell, run!

Cccccoooold!

It's pretty easy to spot Malaysians. We're that big bunch of people taking photos like we have never seen any beach before. The locals would be playing frisbee or volleyball.

Oi Kev take nicer pictures of me la!

When I am around, jumping shots are a sure thing right? =P. I look like a chromosome!

L-R: Me, Kev, Wei Yun, Jillian and sorry I don't know your name even though I always wave to you (I think you don't know my name either HAHAHA).

Oh-kaaay! I think some of us look constipated!

The Malaysian clan. And this is only people from my halls ok!

L-R: Sorry again I don't know your name, Chee Yang, someone, Kenneth, someone, Kev, Dan, me, Pey Chin, someone, Wei Yun.

Then we walked towards the light house.

And took awesome shots like this.

Sorry Kev, I am REALLY REALLY BAD AT THIS, I KNOW!

Yea, very bad.

Damn fail seriously.

Next time we'll get someone else to take for you ok! Hehe.

Walked back to the other end of the beach and mingled with the rest. Mikael, me and Kev.

Oh before I forget,

we went roller blading. We were so excited that we forgot to take photos in our skates. I convinced Kev (who was a first timer) to get roller blades but when he asked me to push him around I pushed too hard and made him fall on his bum. HEH. Then he changed to skates but my goodness if you actually got to see him skate you'll just die of laughter I swear.

To be continued...

SIGH

On Thursdays, I have classes and labs (2 to be specific) from 9am-5pm without any lunch breaks so all I want to do when I come back is SLEEP.

BUT... over here, they party on Thursday nights. Whoever told us that Farrer was the partying hall and Roberts was filled with studious Asians conned me seriously. HAHA. The people living directly above me plays cricket every night so I can hear the ball bouncing above my ceiling and plays guitar with their speakers on Thursday nights. SIGH.

*blinks*. Shit at this rate I am starting to look like a panda already ok!

18.02.2009 - Another Long Day Out

I arrived on the 13th of February. And by the 18th of February, I have already been to the city twice and went to SOO many places that I felt like a tourist. =P.

We started our day pretty early. When I say early, I really mean it. We usually start our day at 7am. That's why I am forever so tired -_-.

Waiting at the train station.
On Sundays, the train takes 40 minutes to go to the city. On other days, it probably takes only 30 minutes? Then we hopped on the tram from Federation Square to go to Albert Park. Kevin wanted to go. To see the F1 track. =.=.

Looking at the map of Albert Park to look for the F1 circuit. I already look bored. HAHA.

We walked around and saw this tent with the F1 symbol. So we took loads of pictures with it. Desperate much? L-R: Me, Benjamin and Kevin.
See, another picture. L-R: Me, Kev, Choo. Then I told the guys that we should try walking around and take a picture with the REAL TRACK. I really don't know why did they insist on taking so many photos in front of this TENT. LOL. There were more but I am not going to upload them cause they are repeats.

Ahhh, finally found the track. Kev wanted me to take a photo with a truck that says ING on it but I got really bored of waiting so I told that I was going to click RIGHT NOW! That's why you'll only get to see the I. Heh.

Another picture with the track since Kev wanted it. He was so excited that he stepped on the track and said : "I AM STEPPING ON THE F1 TRACK!".

The inside of the track. LOL.

The lake was just next to it. Gorgeous ain't it?

The other half of the lake cause it was too big to fit into one frame.

We took another picture cause we're tourists and we're allowed to. =D.

We noticed that the geese here are pretty well fed! Their feathers are so glossy!
Then, since we only bought a 2 hour ticket, we hurriedly hopped into another tram and headed to Shrine of Memorial.

It kicked Tugu Negara's ass from its appearance alone.

The eternal flame that never goes out despite the strong wind (cause it runs on constant gas. Lol).
Compare and contrast ok? I took this picture for Kev.

He took this for me but he chopped off my legs. T.T. This structure was built to commerate the death of soldiers during the War World II.

The majestic Shrine of Memorial. I actually saw it on the tram during my first visit to the city so I was very excited to visit it for real during my second visit.

Since the other guys were so serious I insisted that Kev do a poser shot with me.

Trying to decide if we want another photo.

We asked the rest to join in for a group photo instead. Look at the photo below immediately. You'll see two peace signs popping out. HAHA.
Aiks, why are the words at the side cut off! O_o.

We went into the Shrine and Lady Luck has have been our side cause we were just on time for their lighting ceremony. It's really worth witnessing it so if you guys ever come here remember to come at around noon.

The medal gallery.
At the Shrine, there sort of a observation deck where you'll have a great view of the city.

=). My point exactly.

Sigh, that's the thing about asking random strangers to take group photos. They usually only capture us and not the scenery behind us. T_T.
Since the Royal Botanic Garden was just across the street, we went there to have a look too. Truthfully, the Garden was on our places to visit for that day but we thought that it was a few kilometres away from the Shrine. When we found out that it was JUST ACROSS THE STREET, we really had a good laugh at ourselves.
At the Royal Botanic Garden, we were kinda lost cause we had disagreements as to where the gates were. After asking one passerby, we were told that we were facing the main entrance of the garden. =.=". Like seriously... LOL.

This weird flower looks like lettuce but it is purple in colour and has this weird powdery white substance on it.

Gorgeous ain't it? We plan to come back in Spring to see the flowers again.

When I showed my mum this picture, she said : "You can find this in Malaysia wut". Damn potong ok! But nah the flowers are slightly different if you have a closer look at it!

When I looked at the picture above, I said to Kev: "Can I have a less serious photo PLEASE!!!!". So he had to oblige with my request. Muahaha. I want to come back in Autumn for a jumping shot ok!
Since the garden was SOOOO BIG, we had to go around with the help of maps again. Yen Ming I think I am balding HAHA.

Marky, look! I have your hair! HAHAHAHA IT'S NOT MY IDEA SERIOUSLY! It was Kev's la duh.
Next stop: Rod Laver Arena since the guys are such big fans of tennis. We moved around with the free tourist shuttle bus cause we're entitled to it!

The outside of the stadium.

I think I began yawning already.

The guys kept looking around with wide eyed wonder while I settled with staring at the train tracks there. At one point, I actually heard Kev (if I am not mistaken) saying that WOW NADAL STEPPED HERE.

They wanted a picture with the Rod Laver Arena words so desperately. So I layan-ed them and tried to fit everyone into the frame. Thank goodness I was wearing pants eh?

I suppose some other people would be half jumping up and down at the sight of this.

The outdoor courts.

Me : "Eh, is that Federer?"
Choo: *laughs*. "Noo, that's Djokovic!".
Me : "Oh.. Heh".

Maria Sharapova! She's the loud tennis player! See I am not that ignorant about tennis after all!

I think Kev took a picture of this cause Federer looked sooo young.

The Hallway.

Ze Gift Shop. Kev and Choo went mad here. I kept hearing "OMG!" and "Should I buy this?!?!".

No idea why they took this again but it's pretty cool I guess.

Walking around.

We got closer to the sign this time so they took YET another picture!

This is my bored look. I had it at the zoo too. Choo recognises it already. Hoho.
After that, we headed back down to the city centre and I perked up a bit cause I got to see things that are not sports related and I was just sooo glad!

The arch in Chinatown in Little Bourke Street.
We waited until it was 6pm to buy our tickets (cause then any 2 hour ticket will last you until 3am) and headed to Queen Victoria market for the summer Suzuki market.

The whole place was just jam packed with people.

It was ok. You get to see quite a lot of exotic stuff and food like kangaroo meat but we have only been in Australia in a couple of days so we kept converting any price to ringgit and ended up with nothing.

Tram! I love riding on it when it's cold outside.

Melbourne Central.
*flexes fingers*. Wow, it took me nearly two hours to finish up this post. You guys better comment on it!

T_T

These past 2 weeks has been really really great (yea, I believe I took a grand total of 300-400 photos while I was here? It is going to take quite some time before I can compile all of the photos for the next post. Hoho).

But school's starting tomorrow. =(. And my first lecture is at 8am. So I'll have to wake up at... 6.45am... since I'll be walking. -_-.

Edit: On second thought, I will finally have the time to sleep properly and stop looking like a zombie. -_-. When I post up all of my photos, you'll see that my eyes are slightly droopy in every photo. Sigh. That's how you'll look like too when you go out for nearly 12 hours frequently for two weeks.
